Tesco Lotus is building more community malls in order to expand its market share, the company has told just-food.

The hypermarket giant is opening two @Park malls in Phuket this year due to its strong tourist trade and high-income earners.

The malls are slated to operate in the Chao Fa area and Rawai beach on 22 August and 10 September respectively. Both will feature a 1,000 square metre Talad Lotus supermarket as its anchor retail store.

Tesco Lotus is also opening community malls in Bangkok in Phetkasem Soi 81, the Town in Town and Sukhumvit Soi 101/1.

Tesco mall and media director Venna Arunyakasem said that it is planning five to 10 community malls next year.
