Thai wholesale operator Siam Marko has confirmed that it is developing a mobile grocery scheme in collaboration with DFM Mini Trick.

Under the venture, Marko and DFM will offer retailers a delivery truck and inventory for a single fee.

According to a report in the Bangkok Post, the companies will charge THB400,000 (US$12,035) for the truck and THB100,000 for inventory.

“We believe that the concept will appeal to small retailers, who will use the trucks as mobile grocery stores,” a spokesperson for the group confirmed.

The company declined to comment on when the mobile grocery stores are likely to hit the streets.
