Foodservice giant Sysco Corporation has acquired Campbell’s Prime Meat, a meat and fish supplier based in Scotland.
Campbell’s Prime Meat, a family-owned business established over 100 years ago, employs 325 people at its Linlithgow site.
The business offers products including beef, pork, lamb, chicken, fish, game and deli items.
Despite the acquisition, Campbell’s Prime Meat will operate as a separate business, with “support” from Sysco, a statement read. Campbell’s Prime Meat will also gain access to new customers after the deal, it added.
The financial details of the transaction, struck through Sysco GB, were not disclosed.
Campbell’s Prime Meat CEO Christopher Campbell said: “Sysco is the perfect partner for the next stage in Campbell’s Prime Meat development. Over the past century, we’ve worked tirelessly to build a reputation as the leading catering butcher in Scotland, and we’ve been impressed at how Sysco wants to support and encourage us to continue that journey.
