Cereal Partners Worldwide, the venture between General Mills and Nestle, has formally opened an “innovation centre” in Switzerland.

The US$50m facility was formally opened yesterday (1 February) by General Mills chairman and CEO Ken Powell and Paul Bulcke, the Nestle CEO.

The site will focus on developing new products and packaging, as well as conduct research into nutrition.

Christi Strauss, president and CEO of Cereal Partners Worldwide, was also at the formal opening of the site and said: “CPW already leverages expert support in science and research from both Nestlé and General Mills, but this will make it much easier to collaborate across our R&D facilities. It will ensure that CPW provides consumer-preferred products, irrespective of geographic location.”
