Ebro Foods has completed its purchase of the rice business of SOS Corporacion Alimentaria for EUR205m (US$288.4m).

The news draws to an end the due diligence process undertaken by the companies last November.

A spokesperson for Ebro told just-food that the buy would allow the company to build on its existing rice operations in Europe, the US and the Middle East.

“Our Spanish and US rice business will be strengthened with new brands and we will gain access to the Dutch market,” the spokesperson said today (1 April).
