Space expansion and like-for-like sales gains resulted in higher sales and profits at Russian retailer O’Key Group during 2013.

The company said sales increased 18.8% last year, climbing to RUB134.9bn (US$3.8bn).

Growth was propelled by an 8% rise in like-for-like sales, of which basket size contributed 7.5 points. The company increased selling space by 14.3%, opening eight hypermarkets and three supermarkets.

EBITDA totalled RUB11bn, up 17% on 2012. Net profit increased to RUB4.97bn, compared to RUB4.67bn in the previous year.
