Nestlé, the world’s largest food company, has confirmed that it intends to expand in the Russian cereal category by remaining focused on its health and wellness strategy.
In December 2006, Nestlé Russia and the Bistroff company agreed to jointly develop, produce and market hot cereals in Russia under brands such as Bistroff, Bistryonok and Bistryonok Baby.
Nestlé has now taken full control of Bistroff, with a view to growing the business in the future, a spokesperson for the Swiss food giant told just-food today (6 March).
“The Bistroff business strengthens Nestlé’s competitive position in the cereal business in Russia and gives the company a platform to leverage its nutrition, health and wellness strategy,” the spokesperson said.
