Dunning, who will also hold the position of general director of Lenta, has over 20 years’ experience in the international retail sector, in Russia in particular.


He was employed by the Russian branch of Metro Group for six years, and will take up his role as Lenta CEO once he has been officially registered for this office under Russian law.


Dunning has also held a position with the Aldi discount supermarket chain in Germany and was in charge of wholesale company Lukas Klamer in the Netherlands before he took the helm at Metro.


He held the position of sales director, Metro Cash & Carry Russia, during which time the number of local stores in the chain increased from four to 48.
