US food group Rich Products has made its third acquisition of 2020, adding to deals for Morey’s Seafood International and two bakery plants owned by TreeHouse Foods.

The privately-owned business has snapped up US pizza-dough supplier Rizzuto Foods.

Financial terms were not disclosed but Rich said the deal for Rizzuto Foods “amplifies” its own presence in pizza.

Family-owned Rizzuto Foods, based in Washington state, offers pizza and flatbread products, along with gluten-free and cauliflower crusts. It supplies retailers and foodservice operators, as well as manufacturers that put together pizzas.

“The strategic addition of Rizzuto Foods positions Rich’s for continued growth, greater capacity, increased innovation and long-term success in the category,” Rich said.

Reflecting on all three deals, Ray Burke, president and COO of Rich’s business in the US and Canada, added: “Expanding our product portfolio, adding greater capacity and fuelling innovation are key pieces of our strategic acquisition efforts. These moves strengthen our position as a total solutions provider in today’s rapidly evolving marketplace.”
