Less than two weeks after the launch of its ambitious new marketing program, Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, has announced that three major West Coast retailers have signed on to participate in major St. Patrick’s Day events next month.
Double Eagle Market Development Company and Bord Bia announced today that the Northern California-based seven store Mollie Stone’s gourmet retailer will enthusiastically participate in the Bord Bia program. David Bennett, co-owner of Mollie Stone’s, recently named one of the top ten gourmet retailers in the US by Specialty Food Magazine, reports, “We heard about the program and had to have it. Our customers are always looking for the purest of foods and interesting new experiences, and this fits our bill perfectly.”
In Southern California, Newport Beach, CA-based Irvine Ranch Markets has also agreed to participate. Michael D’Angelo, Irvine Ranch’s president, has committed to a major in-store promotion for St. Patrick’s Day, stating, “Our customers have a great sense of quality and whenever we have the opportunity to showcase an entire country’s best products, we get very excited and will really get behind it.”
The first retailer to commit to the new Bord Bia marketing program was Rudy’s Newport Avenue IGA Market in Bend, OR. Rudy Dory, owner of the regionally popular Newport Avenue Market, could not wait to sign up. “When we heard about the products participating, Bord Bia’s 18 month long commitment, and the comprehensive support program developed by Double Eagle, we not only wanted in, we wanted to be first. That’s the way we are and our loyal customers love us for that.”
This marketing development program features McCann’s Irish Oatmeal, the Irish Biscuits Limited – Jacob’s Biscuits, Barry’s Tea, the Irish Dairy Board products including KerryGold and Dubliner brands, Nestle of Ireland’s Old Time Irish brand sauces and the Farmhouse Cheese Group.
