Metro Group will open outlets in some smaller cities in Poland in order to expand its presence in the country, a spokesperson for the company told just-food today (12 September).

“We are looking for opportunities to invest also in smaller cities. We would like to be closer to our customers so that they can reach our stores within an hour,” the spokesperson said.

However, Metro did not provide details of its plans, what size cities it would focus on or how many stores would be opened.

“We are concidering different ideas,” the company added.

Metro has 122 stores in Poland under its Cash & carry, Real, Media Markt and Saturn banners.
