Cadbury Schweppes chairman John Sunderland has said that the company has started building a chewing gum factory in Skarbimiers, Poland.
According to a report by AFX, the company intends to invest EUR103m in the venture. Production is expected to begin in 2008.
Sunderland said the facility will boost the group’s chewing gum output considerably. Cadbury has identified the gum category as offering considerable potential for growth.
The company was unavailable for comment at time of press.
