PepsiCo has announced a series of management changes, including the departure of its global categories and operations chief.
The Lay's and Quaker owner has also handed CFO Hugh Johnston the additional role of vice chairman and created a single food and beverages unit for Latin America.
The company said Enderson Guimaraes, executive vice president of global categories and operations, had "chosen to pursue an opportunity outside PepsiCo".
Two executives – Brian Newman and Eugene Willemsen – would take responsibility for "many of the areas" overseen by Guimaraes, PepsiCo said.
Brian Newman, senior vice president and general manager for global e-commerce at PepsiCo, has been named executive vice president, global operations. He will be responsible for global operations and supply chain, global procurement, productivity, global security, risk management and corporate strategy.
Eugene Willemsen, president for the company's PepsiCo Lipton beverage unit, has been named executive vice president, global categories and franchise management. He will be responsible for overseeing the company's global beverages, global snacks and global nutrition groups, as well as its global franchise organisation. Willemsen will also continue to oversee PepsiCo's Lipton relationship.

By GlobalDataIn addition to being Pepsi CFO, Johnston has been overseeing the company's Quaker Foods North America business and its global e-commerce organisation. Now he will also have responsibility for the company's global business and information solutions function, which provides information technology systems across the group.
PepsiCo said the move would help it meet the "rise of the digitally connected consumer and the emergence of e-commerce as a new distribution channel".
It said: "Putting the company's information technology and e-commerce organizations under the oversight of a vice chairman will accelerate new solutions and further strengthen PepsiCo's digital technology capabilities."
In Latin America, Laxman Narasimhan, the CEO of PepsiCo's Latin America Foods unit, will lead an integrated food and beverage business across the region. PepsiCo said the move would help it "leverage the scale" of its brand portfolio and "enable greater synergies".
The company said the combination of the food and drink businesses in Latin America was consistent with PepsiCo's other international segments, which are managed as integrated food and beverage operations.
Elsewhere, PepsiCo's business in sub-Saharan Africa, which is part of it Asia, Middle East and Africa division, will move to the European arm, which will be renamed Europe Sub-Saharan Africa (ESSA). As a result, the Asia, Middle East and Africa segment (AMEA) will be renamed as Asia, Middle East and North Africa (AMENA). Ramon Laguarta will continue as CEO of ESSA, while Sanjeev Chadha will continue as CEO of AMENA.
PepsiCo will report financial results for the second quarter of its financial year later today.
