Norwegian retailer Reitan Group is planning to launch a new store concept next year, according to local reports.
In an interview with Norwegian daily Aftenposten today (24 November), Ole Robert Reitan, Reitan MD, said that the company is planning to start opening larger-format stores in April next year.
“We have signed leasing contracts for stores of around 3,000 square metres,” Reitan told Aftenposten.
Like Reitan’s Rema 1000 discount outlets, the new stores will be cheaper than supermarkets and stock “a little of everything”, Reitan continued.
A name is yet to be determined for the new concept, he added.
