Norwegian retailer Reitan Group has posted an increase in sales during the first half, boosted by strong sales gains at its Rema 1000 and Uno-X, chains.

The group saw revenue rise to NOK28bn (US$4.63bn) from NOK25.68bn a year earlier. EBITDA rose 44.3% to NOK1.5bn for the six-month period.

In its earnings statement, the company emphasised that there is “no financial crisis” for the company.

Looking to the future, CEO Odd Reitan said that the group would focus on delivering “quality goods” at low prices.
