Fonterra has announced the appointment of John Doumani, to the newly created role of managing director Fonterra Australasia.
He will assume the new role in Melbourne on 1 March, reporting to Fonterra chief executive officer Andrew Ferrier.
Ferrier said the appointment, which follows the integration of Fonterra’s businesses in Australia into one operational unit, reflects the company’s commitment to investing in the growth of its Australasian businesses.
“John Doumani is a strong addition to Fonterra and I know his experience and enthusiasm for brands and marketing will be a significant asset to us. He has a reputation for delivering a strong brand vision and leadership in a multinational environment,” Ferrier said.
Doumani said: “Fonterra’s global dairy expertise combined with the increasing consumer focus on health and well-being is a natural recipe for success. Increasingly dairy is being seen as the answer to consumer demand for food that is both nutritious and convenient. There couldn’t be a better time to be in dairy – I am looking forward to the opportunities.”
