Dutch meat giant Vion has struck a deal to buy parts of bankrupt local beef processor Weyl Beef Products.
Vion said the business was declared bankrupt in May but would restart operations with “a limited number of permanent staff in indirect positions at the company”.
The deal has been submitted to the EU for antitrust approval. Vion said it expects to receive clearance for the acquisition in the middle of next month.
