Swiss food group Orior has named Nestle executive Daniel Lutz as its new CEO.
Lutz, who is MD for Nestle food and beverage in China, will join Orior in February, the meats, pasta and seafood group said today (22 October).
He will replace Bruno de Gennaro, who has led Orior on a short-term basis after former CEO Remo Hansen left the business this summer to “take on a new challenge”, a spokesperson said.
De Gennaro will return to his role in charge of Orior’s convenience food division. Orior said de Gennaro had “made a decisive mark in terms of strategy and results” as interim CEO but the spokesperson said the company always intended to look outside the business for its next chief executive.
Rolf Sutter, Orior’s chairman, said Lutz, who has spent over two decades at Nestle, would bring “the crucial combination of international expertise and excellent knowledge of the Swiss market environment”. Sutter added: “Orior is a broad-based company with various product categories and locations. Daniel Lutz is currently managing a similarly diverse business with great success.”
