A new chocolate bar under Mondelez International’s Milka brand is to make its debut in stores across Germany and Austria next month.

The US-based snacks group said Milka Waves, available in two 81g variants – with either “beads of caramel” or “crunchy biscuit pieces” – is designed to appeal to “lovers of caramel and biscuit”.

Each Milka Waves variant “blends Alpine milk chocolate with white chocolate for a delicate crunchy taste”, Mondelez said.

Last February, Mondelez said it would launch Milka-branded brownies, which first hit the market in November, in more European countries this year. The group launched the brownies in France and said it was lining up more markets for the products in 2017.

In April, Mondelez added Germany to the markets in which it is selling the thinner version of its Oreo biscuits that were first launched in China three years ago. The biscuits went on sale in Germany as Oreo Crispy & Thin, a variation on the name in some other markets.
