Multinationals present in Mexico – including Hershey and Kellogg – were yesterday (12 July) reportedly forced to suspend production at sites in the west of the country after rebels attacked a gas pipeline.
According to the Associated Press earlier today, a left-wing guerrilla group claimed responsibility for the explosions that forced at least a dozen firms to suspend or shut down production.
The report claimed that confectionery giant Hershey and Kellogg, the world’s largest cereal maker were among the company’s affected.
Officials at Hershey and Kellogg failed to return requests for comment as just-food went to press.
