Mars Inc has added a lactose-free variant to its ready-to-drink milkshake range in the UK.

Mars Milk Lactose Free launches this month in Tesco. The move of the milk follows the recent launches of Mars High Protein and Snickers High Protein shakes.

Michelle Frost, general manager for Mars' chocolate drinks and treats arm, said the launch was in response to growing demand for "more specialised products" within he flavoured milk category which has increased 8% over the past year in terms of value sales.

Mars Milk Lactose Free has an RSP of GBP2.19 (US$3.39).
