Anglo-Dutch consumer goods conglomerate Unilever revealed today [Friday] that it is near to completing the sale of its Dutch oil and fats subsidiary to IOI Corp Berhad of Malaysia.


The Loders Croklaan Groep unit, which employs 600 people, posted FY 2001 sales of €267m (US$262.53m). The sale is reported to be valued at €217m in cash.


Unilever said that it chose to sell the unit as part of a “path to growth” strategy to focus on its core brands.
