German agrifood firm KT Agrar has acquired a vegetable plant in the country from Belgium-based processor Greenyard Foods.
The facility processes about 20,000 tons of frozen vegetables per year and comprises three packaging lines. It also has the storage capacity of 10,000 pallets, KT Agrar said.
In a statement detailing the acquisition, KT Agrar said the plant will lead to “numerous synergies”, with its existing business.
The factory will focus on the production of all deep-frozen vegetables for the group and capacity will be freed up at its Frenzel Tiefkühlkost plant in Ringleben, to allow for the production of ready-made potato dishes, potato fritters, pancakes and cabbage rolls.
