Kraft Heinz has confirmed around 40 jobs in Pittsburgh are to be cut amid moves to outsource some administrative roles.
The Heinz ketchup and Oscar Mayer meats owner said the affected staff would leave the company next month.

Kraft Heinz said the cuts stem from a programme started by the former Kraft Foods Group before last year’s merger with HJ Heinz.
“Over two years ago, Kraft began moving shared services jobs in accounts payable and other customer service functions to a third-party partner with roles based in Wilkes-Barre, Philadelphia, or India. We’re standardising that model across the merged company. As part of this transition, we’ve created a centralised master data function located in Pittsburgh. The result is a net impact of approximately 40 employees in Pittsburgh exiting the company in June,” a Kraft Heinz spokesperson told just-food.
Last week, Kraft Heinz reported higher first-quarter operating earnings on “faster” than expected margin improvements and slightly higher sales volumes, prompting shares in the US food giant to rise.
