Enrico Bondi, the turnaround expert in charge of bankrupt Italian food group Parmalat, is expected to start removing several executives from the company.
Stefano Tanzi, son of Calisto Tanzi, the former Parmalat CEO who is under investigation for fraud related to the company’s massive financial scandal, is likely to be removed from Parmalat’s board and its operating unit Parmalat along with several other executives, reported the Financial Times, citing a person familiar with the group.
“These will be people on the financial side who’d been kept in place primarily to be consulted. The frontline operational people will remain. There’s nothing yet that suggests they’ve done anything wrong,” the person said.
Meanwhile, Italian dairy firm Centrale del Latte di Torino has said it is interested in acquiring companies and industrial assets that Parmalat may put up for sale.
