Ireland-based snacks manufacturer Largo Foods is changing its name to Tayto Snacks to better reflect the nature of its business.

The company, located in Ashbourne, County Meath, is part of Germany-based Intersnack and markets brands such as KP, Hunky Dory’s, Hula Hoops, King and Perri.

Managing director Jeff Swan said: “The decision to rename the company Tayto Snacks came naturally from conversations we were having about business transformation. Although our brands have considerable heritage, we are progressive and passionate about what we do, and we want to constantly improve how we create great savoury snacks for our customers. Our new name, Tayto Snacks, better associates ourselves with the category we love, and our most loved, respected, and recognised brand.”

Tayto Snacks, as it is now known, is not to be confused with the snacking company carrying a similar name and based over the border in County Armagh in Northern Ireland – Tayto Group.

Meanwhile, Tayto Snacks sources potatoes from Irish farmers based in Meath, Dublin, Louth and Wexford amounting to 30,000 tonnes a year.
