Greencore COO Di Walker is to leave the convenience food giant later this month – and the company has decided not to replace her.

Walker will stay on until September “to ensure a seamless transition” to a new management structure at Greencore that will not contain the position of COO.

Greencore said the company had seen “significant change” in the last 18 months, including the integration of UK desserts and sandwich firm Uniq, expansion in the US and the formation of a “broader executive management team”.

Walker’s responsibilities will be allocated “across the wider leadership team”, it added.

CEO Patrick Coveney said: “Di has made an enormous contribution to the company over many years. Her passion, resilience, tight cost focus and deep food industry experience have all been invaluable and we wish Di the best for her future endeavours.”

Walker joined Greencore in 2004 as managing director of the company’s chilled sauce and soups category.

Greencore declined to comment further when contacted by just-food.
