Aldi is to open around 20 stores across Ireland over the next three years, creating 300 jobs.
The retail group made the announcement as it opened its 100th Irish store in Callan, Co. Kilkenny. The move, it said today (18 April), forms part of an expansion programme of its Irish store network.

The stores will be located throughout the country including Wicklow, Kerry, Donegal and Cork.
“Our new multi-million euro investment underpins our ongoing commitment and support to Ireland, our customers, staff and Irish suppliers, producers and manufacturers,” Niall O’Connor, Aldi’s buying director for Ireland, said.
The grocer said it has tripled its annual spend on Irish products over the past five years, and since 2008 has recruited 60 new Irish suppliers, doubling its supply base in the country.
“As we continue to open more new stores and expand our presence throughout the country there will be more and more opportunities for Irish suppliers to work with us,” O’Connor said.
