Indulgence Patisserie is seeking a buyer after the UK-based branded and private-label desserts manufacturer went into administration.
Located in the town of Colchester in the county of Essex, south-east England, Indulgence Patisserie appointed London-based RSM Restructuring Advisory as administrators on 20 January, with Abigail Shearing and Steven Law overseeing the process, RSM said in a statement sent to just-food.
“The administrators are currently in talks with a view to concluding a sale of the business but can offer no further comment at this time,” RSM, formerly known as Baker Tilly, said.
Indulgence Patisserie produces a range of frozen and chilled desserts for retail, foodservice and travel catering firms supplying airlines, ships and motorway service stations. The company’s portfolio consists of cheesecakes, gateaux, tiramisu and parfait, according to its website.
The business was founded in 1988 and started exporting in 2003. Its branded products are supplied under its own name while it also offers “bespoke” manufacturing to cater to individual customer needs in the foodservice channel.
A media report suggested falling sales and legal issues forced Indulgence Patisserie into administration. However, a spokesperson for RSM would not comment other than to say “the administrators will set out the reasons behind the administration in due course in their proposals to creditors”.
