The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) has found that 78% of Indian CEOs expect the domestic processed food market to grow by 15% over the next year.

However, 58% believe that exports will be negatively affected by pressure on cost competitiveness, an inefficient supply chain and domestic compliance formalities.

“Despite the pressure on margins, the majority of the CEOs revealed that the processed food industry expects an increase in capacities during the current year,” said Chandrajit Banerjee, director general, CII.
