French and Swiss food makers are set to be among those looking to beef up their presence in the UK at next week’s IFE exhibition in London’s Docklands.

Sopexa, the promotional body for French food and drink in the UK, said a new corporate logo to promote the country’s wares will be unveiled at IFE, which runs from 15-18 March.

The French Pavilion, which will be located in IFE’s “Walk The World”, hall will host 37 exhibitors including four trade associations.

Switzerland’s food companies will also be present in the Walk the World hall, where six of the country’s firms will be exhibiting at the Swiss Pavilion.

One firm, Deluna, will be showcasing its range of traditional Italian cuisine, while Flagfood will push its stable of chilled food products.

Swiss cheese-makers Interprofession du Gruyère and Von Mühlenen will also be at the pavilion, which is at stand number N3505.

IFE, which runs every two years, also provides smaller UK firms with the opportunity to gain access to the retail buyers and foodservice companies in attendance.

Honey maker Rowse is holding two tastings at stand N3104 with company chairman Stuart Bailey. The tastings, on 16 and 17 March, will take in the Rowse range of honeys, as well as the newly-launched three Rowse Fruit and Honey Conserves.

Elsewhere, dessert maker Indulgence Patisserie plans to unveil a range of “premium” frozen desserts for retail customers.

Indulgence, which will be at stand S2705, has listings with UK retailer Booths and French group Auchan. The company said further launches were planned with retailers in the UK, Germany and Scandinavia this year.
