Hungarian Tesco Global Aruhazak, subsidiary of UK supermarket chain Tesco, is reported to be planning the introduction of 24/7 opening hours at all of its 24 supermarkets by 23 December, in a bid to increase turnover.

The company, which already operates a 24-hour service in its five Budapest stores, expects turnover to increase 3.5% as a result of the expanded opening hours.

Tesco is set to increase its number of staff by 1,400 from its current 11,000 in order to cope with the extra operating hours, reported EcoNews.
