Greenyard Foods said today (9 July) COO Francis Kint was stepping down from the role to Dutch meat group Vion Food Group as chief executive.

Kint will take a non-executive board role at Belgium-based Greenyard, which now also comprises produce giant Univeg and agribusiness Peatinvest after the recent merger between the three companies.

Kint started at Univeg in 2009 when he became CEO of Univeg's German arm. Four years later, he became group CEO.

"I am most grateful for the wonderful years at Univeg in which I had the opportunity to contribute to the creation of a global leader in its field," he said.

Greenyard CEO Marleen Vaesen added: "We respect this decision made by Francis. I will take over his responsibilities. We will redesign the company's structure to fully support the recent merger and to enhance the synergies between the fresh, prepared & substrates business segments."

Vion had yet to make an announcement on the appointment of Kint at the time of writing.
