Belgium-based produce group Greenyard has announced that Geert Peeters will join the company as chief financial officer from September.

Geert Peeters, the CFO of metals-recycling business Metallo Group, will succeed COO and namesake Carl Peeters, who had held the two roles since the start of the year.

Geert Peeters will report directly to CEO Hein Deprez, who took up his position in January, and Carl Peeters.

Greenyard said Geert Peeters has extensive experience in finance, including mergers and acquisitions, financing and transformations. He has previously worked for accountancy firms PwC and Deloitte, as well as Metallo.

He said: “I am really looking forward to being able to build a world with more fruits and vegetables in a dynamic, international group such as Greenyard.”

Deprez and Carl Peeters said in a joint statement: “With Geert we bring a wealth of experience on board in the field of financial processes and M&A.

“We are convinced that Geert will be an important reinforcement for the Greenyard leadership team. Together with him we will work on the profitable growth of the company.”
