Homann, the German food maker, has acquired a food dressings production line from local margarine maker Walter Rau Lebensmittelwerke.
The EUR8.3m (US$11m) deal was announced on Friday (3 April) by Homann’s owner, London-listed IFR Capital.
IFR said the production line makes mayonnaise and ketchup sold onto the German market. The fund said the deal would add higher-margin products to Homann’s portfolio.
“The addition of the food dressings production line to Homann’s existing production infrastructure will consolidate Homann’s position in the German food dressings market,” IFR said.
Meanwhile, IFR subsidiaries Heinrich Hamker, Lebensmittelwerke and Feinkostwerke Hamker have sold their margarine production lines to Walter Rau for EUR1m.
