A national organic fastfood chain is set to launch in Germany and the Netherlands.

The brainchild of Haarlem-based organic restaurant De Koningen, the chain will launch its first outlet in Germany within the next few months and then move on to the Netherlands around the New Year, when “the teething troubles are out of the way,” said owner Roland de Thouars.

According to a report in the Financieele Dagblad, the group aims to operate 30 restaurants in Holland within five years. The search for suitable locations is already underway. If all goes well, expansion outside these two initial markets will follow at a later date.

According to the report, the stores are expected to be called Real Mealz in Holland. They will sell wraps, ciabatta, and brown and white bread sandwiches. They will also offer salads, free-range meat and a special children’s range. As well as offering organic fastfood, the chain aims to keep its products healthy, as research indicates a strong demand for healthy fastfood.
