German chocolate maker Ritter Sport has revealed plans to build a factory in Chekhov, in the Moscow region of Russia.


Torsten Baar, general director of the company’s Russian subsidiary Ritter Sport Schokolad, said the business has acquired a plot of land and is designing the factory, reported Prime-TASS News.


The project has an estimated cost of €70m (US$91.2m). The factory will have a capacity of 15,000 tonnes of chocolate per year, and is expected to be ready for production at the beginning of 2007.
