German discount retailer Lidl has said it plans to open its first ten stores in Norway in September.
Following the opening of the first ten stores, Lidl plans to embark on an aggressive expansion strategy in Norway, reported AFX News.
Since announcing its plans to enter the Norwegian market, Lidl has met with opposition from competitors and local authorities. An AC Nielsen survey last year suggested the media curiosity surrounding Lidl’s entry into the Norwegian market had provided the retailer with valuable publicity.
