German confectionery maker Haribo has withdrawn 780,000 confectionery-filled advent calendars from sale because of a change to the taste of the sweets.
The company said the taste of the liquorice and jellied fruit sweets was altered during the manufacturing process, but there was no risk to consumers from eating the sweets, reported Agence France Presse.
The company estimated the cost of the product withdrawal was about €10 (US$13) per calendar.
