Winner joined the US-listed business, Israel’s largest food importer, in February 2020.
Willi-Food announced in March the resignation of CEO Einat Peled Shapira after a year in the role. She succeeded Michael Luboschitz, who had held been at the helm for two years.
Asked by just-food when Willi-Food will name a new, permanent CEO, Itsik Barabi, the company’s CFO, replied: “I hope one year from now.”
Winner will no longer be Willi-Food’s head of operations, Barabi added. “Erez filled this role together with Elad Tzemah and now Elad will act as sole head of operations.”
In 2020, Willi-Food saw its sales rise 14.8% to NIS454.1m (US$137.7m). Operating profit increased by 21.7% to NIS57.6m. Income after taxes on income stood at NIS52.2m, versus NIS51.5m in 2019.
Willi-Food imports products from canned fruits and vegetables, to bakery lines and dairy items.
