Workers at French poultry manufacturer Tilly-Sabco have been informed the firm is filing for bankruptcy.

The firm had been facing closure earlier this year, but in July managed to secure business to see it through to the end of September.

Yesterday however, CEO Daniel Sauvaget, told the work’s council and its 300-plus employees, it had made an application for liquidation with continuation of activity to allow time for a successful takeover and the chance to preserve as many jobs as possible.

The Tribunal de Commerce de Brest which the firm has filed the request with is set to make its decision over the next few days.
