LR Services, a subsidiary of Keystone Foods, has opened a 9,300-square-metre controlled-temperature distribution hub in Beauvais, dedicated to supplying 167 McDonald’s restaurants in northern France.

Located in proximity to the Paris-Boulogne-sur-Mer A16 motorway, the hub has attracted investment of €12m (US$14.3m).

The tri-temperature centre, which entered service earlier this month, is equipped with chilled, dry and frozen storage facilities.

It will handle 50,000 tonnes of deliveries annually but has been designed to offer capacity of up to 100,000 tonnes.

The Beauvais hub is designed to complement similar distribution hubs dedicated to the fastfood chain in the Greater Paris region and in Rennes and Nancy, in the west and east of the country respectively.
