French retailer Intermarché has launched a marketing campaign that offers to refund the price difference on 250 national brands if customers find them cheaper at its rivals.

The campaign began yesterday (31 August) for the back-to-school and back-to-work period in France. It will run until 23 September.

The retailer has taken out double-page ads in France’s national press with the headline: “Intermarché is committed to being the cheapest for national brands.”

The ads feature food brands such as Herta cooked ham, Lactalis milk, Andros orange juice and Président camembert.

“The campaign is designed to help our customers combat the high cost of living,” an Intermarché official told just-food.
