Entremont Alliance is looking to sign a draft agreement in the next month that would see the ailing French dairy group link-up with either Lactalis or Sodiaal.
“Entremont Alliance and its sole shareholder, Unifem, are currently in negotiations with Lactalis and Sodiaal with the aim of tying Entremont and its activities to one of these two groups and thus forming a more diversified whole,” the company said.
The firm would do all in its power to ensure that a deal along these lines was in place before the end of August, the statement added.
The statement came “following a number of reports in the press” in recent days and served “to quash inaccurate interpretations.” One report in particular, quoted president Christian Mazuray as saying that Entremont’s future was unlikely to be resolved before the start of 2010.
