US baker Flowers Foods is expanding its snack cake brand Tastykake through the launch of a new line of mini cupcakes.
The new range includes: mini peanut butter swirly cupcakes, made with Reese's brand peanut butter; mini swirly cupcakes with chocolate cake, made with Hershey's cocoa; and mini koffee kake cupcakes. Flowers uses the Hershey's and Reese's trademarks under license from the Hershey Co.
Each box comes with eight packs of three mini cakes with an RRP of US$3.99. One serving of three cupcakes contains under 200 calories, the company said.
Brent Bradshaw, Flowers Foods' vice president of cake marketing, commented: "These new treats are great for sharing and conveniently packaged for both on-the-go and at-home snacking."
