Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt, the US frozen Greek-yogurt bar brand, has appointed a new chief executive with more than two decades industry experience.
Former Amplify Snack Brands COO and WhiteWave Foods president Craig Shiesley is to become Yasso’s CEO, replacing the firm’s two co-CEOs Drew Harrington and Amanda Klane, who set up the business in 2009.
Yasso, which has private-equity firm Castanea has an investor, is also moving its headquarters from Massachusetts to Colorado.
“We felt now was an appropriate time to select a new leader to execute our strategic growth plan. As Craig joins the Yasso family as CEO, we’re confident the brand will continue to grow and carry on with our mission to bring great tasting, better-for-you desserts to fans all across the country while making a positive impact in our communities,” Harrington said.
Shiesley, who already had a seat on the Yasso board, became Amplify president and CEO in the autumn of 2017, three months before the US snacks business accepted a takeover bid from Hershey. He had spent almost a decade at WhiteWave Foods. Before joining the Silk owner, Shiesley worked for multinational cleaning-products business SC Johnson for 16 years.
“The Yasso brand already has strong momentum, leading in velocity growth as well as repeat in the category, and yet there is so much more growth runway for the brand,” Shiesley said.
