Dairy maker Eurilait has announced plans to boost capacity at its UK-based cheese cutting and packing facility.

The GBP650,000 (US$986,000) investment at the Somerset site – which cuts and pack cheeses from across Europe – will see production lines added and packing facilities extended.

Eurilait is the UK subsidiary of French co-operatives Laita and Eurial. It supplies retail, wholesale and food manufacturers with cheese, butter, cream and creme fraiche.

“The objective is to increase capacity in line with the company’s recent growth and plans,” a spokesperson for Eurilait told just-food today (13 January).

“The company has growing demand for a wide range of cheese and packing formats we offer and we foresee this trend continuing in the future.”
