Danish retailer Dansk Supermarked said today (11 May) that it saw its profits decline in the first quarter as Easter slid into the company’s second quarter.

For the quarter ended 31 March, net profit fell 6% to DKK331m (US$63m). Revenue over the quarter was flat at DKK14bn. Measured in local currency, revenue was down 1.6%.

The retailer said volumes were flat over the quarter.

Dansk Supermarked’s owner, Maersk, said that it expects to record a DKK3.8bn accounting gain from the sale of its UK Netto operations in the second quarter.
