Costa Group, the Sydney-listed fresh fruit and vegetable supplier, has promoted Sean Hallahan to CEO, a position he will take up at the end of March.
Hallahan is chief operating officer at the Australian business, a role he has held since 2017. He will also assume the managing director seat on the same date as his CEO appointment, 31 March.
Existing chief executive Harry Debney announced his retirement in May after more than a decade in the job.
Costa Group chairman Neil Chatfield said in a statement today (13 November): “We are delighted to have a person of Sean’s calibre and experience who brings a deep passion for our industry as well as over 20 years senior management and CEO experience in FMCG, including a background with growth-oriented organisations with an emphasis on delivering high quality product categories with strong customer focus.
“Sean’s appointment is the culmination of a rigorous global executive recruitment search, which included both internal and external candidates.”
Hallahan’s career history before joining Costa includes roles at Tata Global Beverages and George Weston Foods, both appointments in Australia.
