Wal-Mart China has opened a new “eco store”, located in the Chaoyang district of Beijing.
The 17,527 square metre outlet includes a number of environmentally-friendly features designed to reduce the outlet’s carbon footprint, a spokesperson for the retailer told just-food.
“The store contains features like LED and electromagnetic induction lights throughout, timers, dimmers and motion sensors for low-traffic areas, high efficiency HVAC systems, and a waste-water reclamation system,” the spokesperson said.
